FLUE GAS DESULPHURISATION
Many installations which emit sulphur from their processes, are required to fit Flue Gas Desulphurisation plants (FGD). There are two main types of FGD; “wet” and “dry”. In the wet type, the sulphur dioxide is dissolved in seawater, at a dilution meeting environmental requirements. In the dry type the sulphur dioxide is combined chemically with limestone, and calcium sulphate (Gypsum) is produced as a saleable by-product. For both types, Castlet has designed, supplied and commissioned the complete electrical control systems, and the LV power distribution and switchgear.
